Medical Salt Expert: Instructions for the use of physiological saline to support the treatment of colds
1. What is a cold?
Cold is a common disease in Vietnam, especially during the
changing seasons, weather changes, or large temperature differences at
different times of the day. Colds are common in all subjects, but children and
the elderly are the two most likely to get sick.
Colds are common respiratory viral infections. Colds and
flu are often confused due to having relatively similar symptoms. However,
colds are milder than flu but still cause fatigue, reduce work efficiency,
reduce energy, and affect daily life.
For adults and people with good resistance, colds do not
cause serious effects, but this disease has a great impact on children.
Children with weak respiratory systems, immature immune systems if they
encounter adverse factors such as viruses, they will seriously affect
respiratory organs such as lungs, bronchi
This is a common disease and hardly causes serious effects
on the health of adults, but it does have a great impact on children if they
have it. The reason is because young children have an immature immune system,
if they encounter adverse conditions, they can affect respiratory organs such
as lungs and bronchi.
2.1.
Causes
· Colds are caused viruses, the most common of which are
viruses of the Rhinovirus strain, or Enterovirus. The virus enters the human
body mainly through the eyes, nose, mouth, or also through airborne droplets
when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
· Cases of viral infections caused by contact with objects
containing the virus when touching or sharing items with sick people have been
rarely recorded.
2.2 Common symptoms
After the body is infected with the pathogenic virus for
about 2-3 days, the patient will have manifestations of the disease acting on
the sinus, nose, throat organs, lasting from 3-7 days. The first 3 days or so
are the most likely to cross-infect others.
The common cold will only show mild symptoms, the disease
can resolve on its own after 1 week of symptoms. Symptoms can vary from person

there are also some cases that are not treated in time, the cold will cause a
number of complications for the body, such as asthma, otitis media, acute
sinusitis or other secondary infections.
